I have handed out your publication at one-on-one sessions (information literacy) with students. As we are a distance
education tertiary institution, our students find JumpStart invaluable. Chapter 3, JumpStart your Matric year, has
immediate relevance… All I can convey is my opinion that JumpStart is necessary, important and relevant as it contains information needed by learners from all backgrounds. Thank you for an excellent publication…

I would like to thank you for a very great book which I had requested on my daughter’s behalf. It is so full of information, I even used the format you have for a covering letter when you apply for a job (I am retrenched and am looking for a job). This shows you that it can be used across the spectrum… Thanks again, keep up the good work and God bless you…

I would like to commend you on your fantastic publication called JumpStart. I have been teaching Life Skills and now Life
Orientation for 15 years and I think this is one of the most comprehensive and well written books in the subject area that
I have seen! ...I would like to use it as a base text. I feel that the learners will be exceptionally well prepared for post
school activities after having worked through JumpStart…

This book had also giuded me in further enriching my pupils. While paging through looking for information and
wondering how I can incorpororate other life skills into the project I came across the CV and job application process -
Perfect. Now when I cover stereotyping (woman can drive trucks as well) the children will write their CV and apply for
a job normally seen as stereotyping.

JumpStart is an invaluable tool to these students as it is often their only source of career guidance. Comprehensive,
colourful and hugely informative, this book gives learners clear guidelines on how to Jumpstart their way to future
success. The use of colour and pictures to highlight and illustrate key points makes the book very user-friendly,
particularly for English second language speakers.

It really is nifty, and I think you've done a stunning contribution for young people in this country, you show them that
even if they weren't born with a golden spoon in their mouths they can still reach for the stars literally ! (Mark
Shuttleworth insert pag 89 ).

I rate this book 10 out of 10 as it is an eye opener for up and coming youth and young adults like me and wish that
secondary level learners especially those who are writing their final grade 12 exams could have access this book.
