Starting a project like JumpStart was in itself ambitious and as many of us knew, there was a great need for this handbook in this country as well as many other parts of the globe. It took many months of research and development on the needs of the youth and how to direct this information. All we had was a dream, an idea and a whole lot of burning desire to deliver.

There were full time and contract people employed to research and produce the JumpStart Handbook. Tiffany Markman, our original full time editor and contributor, understood the needs and the brief that she was given and most of all she had a passion for the youth of today. She wanted to make a difference. She wanted to see change. She wanted to empower and most of all she wanted to take all this information and let the people enjoy it. A special thank you to Tiffany.

Besides the many people who contributed information to the handbook, there were a number of people who believed in us and gave us encouragement to keep going. Many of these people also gave financial assistance to various degrees and much of their precious time to facilitate the completion and delivery to the thousands of learners around the country.

As we move to a new level we hope that all those who helped us will be very proud of JumpStart. We appreciate everything that you did for us. In no specific order we would like to thank the following people: Royden Volans, José Rodriges, Leonel Fernandes, Jaco de Jager, Bonnie Hirner, Mark Meyer, Brett Wood, Emil & Sesel Möller, Ruth Kotton, Des Khoury, Williem Pelser, Albie Marsters, Dennis Lewis, Craig Segal, Gary Janks, Dave East, Don Shearer, Trevor Ormerod, Harold Wolmer, René Derchamps, Ingrid Wood, Colleen Lewis, Gavin Launders, Julie Rautenbach, David Botha, Allan Taylor & Lara Searle-Barnett. Without all these wonderful people believing in the project, JumpStart would not have been able to become a reality.
